MSI X-Slim X600

The MSI X-Slim X600 is part of the company’s ultrathin notebooks, weighing in at 4.6lbs with its 2.5 cm thin form factor and 15.6-inch display. The notebook is powered by Intel® Centrino™ 2 processor technology that promises mobile performance, longer battery life (up to 50% more multitasking performance), expanded wireless connectivity (5 times) and up to 90% faster multimedia encoding. It comes with an ergonomically designed keyboard, called the MSI Exclusive EDS (Ergonomic De-Stress) keyboard. Each key is molded to fit the user’s fingertips and provide less strain on the user for prolonged use. The keyboard has a surface areas that is 51% larger, so the face of each individual key wider for typing convenience; it is said to encourage natural finger and wrist movement to reduce strain and allow users to work for hours without discomfort. The 15.6 inch display is powered by ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4330 3D Graphics Card with 512MB VRAM, providing support for millions of colors, detail and effects. The 16:9 theater ratio provides bigger visual area. When watching movies, the black bars on the top and bottom of the 16:10 aspect ratio screen can also be avoided, making the notebook ideal for playing HD videos at any possible angle. The X600 is embedded with LED power-saving backlight technology to lower usage of power for a longer operating time. It also features MSI’s Vivid Image Enhancement Technology that allow for richer colors, bringing the smallest details to life regardless of whether its gaming, editing images, or watching movies. Other features on the X600 includes High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Digital Audio/Video Interface that provides up to 5 GB per second Audio/Visual transferring and 1080p resolution, simplify external wiring and provide optimal audio/video quality; E-SATA Port with a transfer speed of 3GB which enhances scalability and doubling the bus bandwidth for high-speed data retrieval and saves; Dual Headphone Ports; built-in camera for video chat that allows users to send, receive or record every moment and complete entertainment interface, including a card reader (supporting SD/MMC) for access to mainstream memory cards, so you can easily save digital files onto your laptop. Aimed at most current digital technology, such as: digital cameras, digital video cameras, digital MP3 players, all able to connect to the X600’s USB2.0 ports. The option of an external multi-media DVD burner is included (depends on model) so you can both watch DVDs and burn backups of important materials. The X600 also supports theater class 4 speakers qualified by Latest Dolby® Surround that provides users with full-bodied, cinema-style sound effects when they are playing games, watching movies or TV, or listening to music. The X600 is also equipped with the ECO Engine power management system, allowing users to select freely from the five different modes suitable at convenience. The five modes include office, gaming, movies, presentation, and turbo battery. The MSI X-Slim X600 is a Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 (1.4 GHz)/Intel Celeron ULV 723 (1.2 GHz) with 800 MHz front-side bus speed and 3 MB cache notebook that is supported by Mobile Intel GS45 + southbridge ICH9M-SFF chipset and 3 GB (up to 4GB on two slots) of memory. The notebook runs a Genuine Window Vista® Home Premium operating system.

Display
It sports a 15.6 inch HD WXGA (1366 × 768 pixel resolution) glossy display with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio that is supported by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card with 512 MB DDR2 VRAM of dedicated memory (PCI Express graphic type).

Storage media and controller
The X600 supports a 320 GB (upgradeable to 500 GB) Serial ATA hard disk drive. The notebook also supports a DVD Super Multi (External) optical drive.

It has 4 audio speakers, and the following interface: 1 VGA (15-pin, D-Sub), 1 HDMI, 3 USB ports (two USB 2.0 and one E-SATA / USB Combo), 1 RJ45, headphone and microphone jacks. The MSI X-Slim X600 also supports a 2 in 1 memory card reader (SD / MMC), WiFi AGN (via built-in 802.11 b/g/n WLAN Card), Bluetooth (optional) and Ethernet networking (10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet), and comes with a 1.3 megapixel webcam and software bundle and in a choice of silver or black color.

It is powered by either 19 V DC, 65 W, Input: 100 ~ 240V AC, 50 / 60Hz universal adapter or a 6 cell battery pack. The X600 measures 39.2 x 25.5 x 2.5 cm and weighs 2.1 Kg. The MSI X-Slim X600 is available in two colors: black X600-031US and white X600-021US.
