It seems like most hard drives these days are being released with USB 3.0. The latest to do the rounds is ioSafe’s new SoloPRO hard drive. This hard drive from ioSafe not only comes with USB 3.0, but it’s a water- and fire-proof drive. Maybe this explains why the drive looks so heavy, and why its rugged look.
ioSafe unveiled its fastest rugged external HDD, the SoloPRO, which comes with USB 3.0 and eSATA / USB 2.0 connections. The drive supports several systems as well such as Windows and Linux servers. The SoloPRO can hold itself well in temperatures up to 1550° F for 30 minutes. It’s not even affected if submerged to a depth of 10 feet for up to 3 days. On top of these, the drive comes with a heat-resistant paint option. The ioSafe SoloPRO will be released in three capacities: 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB. Prices will be from $250 to $420.
