Portégé M780 Unveiled

by Julie on February 3, 2010

Toshiba Portégé M780 tablet PC has finally been made public. This tablet PC sports a 12.1-inch multi-touch screen and is powered by Windows 7. Introduced in Europe, this Toshiba device comes equipped with Intel’s recent Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs. It weights 4.4lbs and is considered quite strong with Toshiba claiming that it is certified to withstand drops from up to 3 feet. The same thing for its keyboard with the difference that it is resistant to spills. No solid state drive on the device but it does have support for it. A 2.5-inch hard drive is present though, no word on the brand though. It comes with a 3D accelerometer that will protect and prevent it from being damaged. In other words, it can detect a fall and moves the write pin away from the drive’s recording surface. It features also Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, fingerprint reader, webcam and two USB sleep and charge ports. As of now, we know that Toshiba will ship the Portégé M780 to European, Middle Eastern and African markets. Price is still unknown. No word on when it will be available in USA.
